About St James ParkSt James Park is 160 years old, making it one of Boroondara’s oldest parks. It’s known for its 19th-century tree-lined paths, great city views, formal garden beds and sweeping lawns.The park also has sports facilities, a playground and a war memorial, all of which are regularly used by sports clubs, community members and a local primary school.About St James Park master planWe prepare master plans for all our significant parks and gardens. It hasn't been used at all since 2011.As part of the master plan, we're opening up the southern green for everyone. Our design reflects the space's historic use as a bowling green and features:a half basketball and netball court barbeque and seating with views of the citysensory gardens opposite the playgroundfencing between the Hawthorn Bowls Club and the new park.As these works are not currently funded by Council, we'll present the design to Councillors for consideration as part of a future Council budget.
