Dispose of in your household waste bin.

Aerosol cans (empty – excluding paint, chemicals and motor oil cans)

• Recycle in your recycling bin
• Recycle at the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre or at the Kew Depot Recycling Drop-off Centre.

Aerosol cans (full)

• Recycle through Detox your Home

Note: Do not dispose in household or street bins. Full aerosol cans can cause major fires in our collection trucks and at our waste processing facilities. 

Aged care equipment

• Give away or sell by posting on Boroondara Hard Rubbish Rehome Facebook group, Facebook Marketplace, Ziilch or Gumtree.
• Dispose of at the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre (fees may apply)
• Dispose of by booking a hard waste collection.

Aluminium foil (clean, rolled into a ball)

• Avoid waste by using a non-stick baking dish and lid instead
• Reuse by washing, drying and reusing for baking
• Recycle in your recycling bin
• Recycle at the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre or at the Kew Depot Recycling Drop-off Centre.

Note: If you have more than one piece of foil, combine these into one ball for recycling.

Asbestos

It's illegal to place asbestos in any household or street bins. Follow advice from the EPA on how to dispose of this material.
