- Avoid waste by using rechargeable batteries where possible

Note: It is illegal to put batteries in any household or street bins. Batteries are toxic and can explode. They can cause major fires in our collection trucks and at our waste processing facilities. Alternatively, soft plastics can be disposed of in the kerbside waste bin or as waste at the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre.
