We are proposing changes to planning controls affecting land at 57 and 60 Berkeley Street, Hawthorn to place a Heritage Overlay over the properties on a permanent basis.
Current Status (September 2022)
The independent Panel appointed to consider submissions to Amendment C367 and C368 has scheduled a public hearing from 19 to 28 October 2022. You can access a copy of the current hearing schedule from the download section below.
As directed by the independent Panel, Council’s Part A submission and any expert witness statement needs to circulated by 12 pm (noon) Monday, 12 September 2022. After that time, Council’s Part A submission and expert witness statements will be made available for download in the download section below.

Following the panel hearing, the independent Panel will prepare a report for consideration by Council. Council must make this report publicly available 10 business days after receiving it.
Council officers will review the Panel report and prepare a report for consideration by the UPDC with recommendations. Council does not need to accept the Panel’s recommendations, and may resolve to make additional changes to the amendment.
