There’s a real shift underway in Boroondara.
This new Council brings a fresh perspective and a new lens on what our community expects and deserves.
You’ll have seen the difference – from climate solutions that cut emissions and power bills, to our new Greenways program – making it easier for people of all ages to move through our city using our network of paths, trails and open spaces.
At Kew Recreation Centre, construction is back. The pools are in, trucks are delivering the structural steel framing for the roof, and the building is starting to take shape again. This will bring the project back to where it was at the time of collapse. We’re now looking forward to seeing much more activity on the site and delivering this new facility for our community.
And we’ve made the call to heat the pools using electric heat pumps – making this an all-electric building, a better outcome for future generations.
We’re proud to be partnering with local group Electrify Boroondara to host the Electrify Your Life expo this October. Whether you’re curious about induction cooking or want to understand the benefits of switching off gas, it’s a great chance to see what’s possible and practical for your home.
Across the city, you’ll see projects moving, new ideas taking hold and a renewed sense of purpose. It reflects the energy of our community – creative, informed and always looking forward. We’re here to deliver what’s needed and then go further.
