Content components We’re upgrading the playground at Mont Albert Park in Balwyn due to its age and condition. About the upgradeThis playground upgrade aims to:create new play experiences for a range of ages and abilitiesimprove accessibilityencourage children to engage in imaginative and social playbetter meet the current and future needs of children and families.Key features of the new playground include: a new ‘funky monkey’ agility area - with gymnastics‑style play unit that supports balance and coordination - it’s the first of its kind in Boroondara!an arch climber with ladders, nets and rock-climbing elements (another first for Boroondara).a play unit - with a tunnel and double slide, activity boards, a post office and fruit shop cubby, rock climbing, ladders and platformsa car rockera cafe play area with wheelchair accessrubber surfacing to improve accessibility.Other park upgrades Recently we’ve added park improvements including a new drink fountain with a dog bowl, a dedicated seating area and 18 more trees planted around the park.Further upgrades will include:new picnic settings - one with a built-in chessboardadditional seatinga relocated park bench closer to the activity areaaccessible path within the playground. Community consultationWe invited our community to share feedback to help guide the design for the new playground.We received feedback over 2 rounds of consultation in late-2024 and mid-2025.
