About Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten
A kindergarten where experienced, passionate teachers and co-educators strive to provide a magical year for each child. The stimulating play-based program is open-ended, flexible and responsive to the children’s interests and individual levels of development.
The program includes music time, special days (for example, grandparent/s day), gardening, an end of year concert and many more exciting experiences.

New Community Precinct in Canterbury
In 2023, Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten will operate from the Canterbury Community Precinct at 2 Kendall Street, Canterbury.

This program offers 15 hours of free kindergarten each week.

Butterflies – 22 places
This program offers:
- 15 hours of free kindergarten each week, and
- 4 hours and 30 minutes of additional optional hours. For 2023 enrolled families, please discuss these additional optional hours directly with the kindergarten.

2023 fees per term
The Victorian Government Free Kinder initiative is available at this kindergarten. Concession rates don't apply.
3-year-old kindergarten program
- Caterpillars (13 hours 30 minutes per week): free
4-year-old kindergarten program
- Butterflies (15 hours per week): free
- Additional hours (5 hours 15 minutes per week): $300
Additional costs
- Incursions/excursions: $200 per year
- Parental contribution: $600 per year. This is a voluntary contribution.

- promote continuous improvement in the provision of quality education and care
- improve knowledge and access to information about the quality of services to help families make informed decisions about their child’s education and care.
