About Glen Iris Road Uniting Kindergarten

This kindergarten is located in a purpose-built centre attached to Glen Iris Uniting Church and next door to Glen Iris Primary School.

The teachers and educators here take on many roles to play with your child and use a range of integrated teaching and learning strategies to strike the balance between child-led and educator supported learning.

The 4-year-old program runs the ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) program, which you can learn more about on the ELLA website. Currently, the children are exploring Chinese Language (Mandarin) through iPad apps and play.

Learn more about the centre's staff, programs, facilities and philosophies on the Uniting website.

Rating against the National Quality Standard

Early childhood education and care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard (NQS). You can find out more about the NQS on the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority website. This assessment and rating aims to:

  • promote continuous improvement in the provision of quality education and care
  • improve knowledge and access to information about the quality of services to help families make informed decisions about their child’s education and care.

You can see the Glen Iris Road Uniting Kindergarten's rating against the NQS using the child care search tool on the Starting Blocks website. You can also learn more about the assessment process on the Starting Blocks website.

Note: These details have been provided by Glen Iris Road Uniting Church Kindergarten in partnership with the Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme (BKCES). For the most up-to-date information, visit the Uniting website.
