About Alfred Road Kindergarten (ARK)

A positive, playful and nurturing environment where children learn, grow and have fun.

The program focuses on play-based learning. Children engage in music, movement, art, cooking and gardening in secure indoor and outdoor spaces. Alfred Road also participates in the Victorian Government  Early Childhood Language Program and offers a Chinese (Mandarin) language program at no extra cost.

Note: An extended hours session (Kookaburras) is available for up to 22 children on Wednesday from 1.30 to 4pm. Koala group children enrolled in this session attend the centre from 9.15am to 4pm on Wednesdays. An additional fee applies.

Fees - per term

3-year-old kindergarten program (8 hours per week): $706

4-year-old kindergarten program (15 hours per week): $580

Extended hours care (2 hours 30 minutes) Wednesdays 1.30 - 4pm: $240

  • Sunhat
  • Incursions

Fees must be paid in advance to secure your child's placement at Alfred Road and are subject to change.

Additional costs

Maintenance levy: $50 per term - this fee may be refunded after participating in working bees or joining the kindergarten committee.


 A Victorian government subsidy is available for eligible families that reduces the fee for the 4-year-old program to $0

No concessions are available for the 3-year-old kindergarten program.
