OUTAGE: Website maintenance April 2024

Our website will be unavailable from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday 23 April due to planned maintenance.

The Local Government Act 2020 requires councils to develop and approve a Councillor Code of Conduct within 4 months after each general election. A council may choose to amend the Councillor Code of Conduct any time during its term.

At its meeting held on Monday 24 October 2022, Council adopted the Councillor Code of Conduct. The purpose of the Code is to set out the Standards of Conduct with which councillors must comply and to:

  • foster good working relationships between councillors to enable councillors to work constructively together in the best interests of the municipal community
  • lift the standard of behaviour of councillors during Council meetings, councillor briefings and any other meetings which councillors participate in from time to time
  • establish benchmarks for councillor conduct designed to build public confidence in the integrity of local government.
