Species to be planted complement the existing character of each park and provide much needed shade and habitat for local birds, mammals and insects. We carefully select species to ensure they will survive and thrive in future climatic conditions.Tree planting updatesWe share information with the community about these tree planting activities before they start at each location by:putting up signs near the planting areasending a letter to residents who live near planting locations to let them know about the upcoming planting activities.NELP-funded tree plantingsIn 2021, we planted 70 trees at Hyde Park in Kew East.
