Friends of Ashburton Forest

This group works on local revegetation projects. They formed from our Backyard Biodiversity project.

Friends of Back Creek - Ferndale

This group looks after the open section of Back Creek near Denman Avenue in Glen Iris and the parklands towards Ferndale Park. It will be involved with the maintenance of Council's Greenways initiative in the area.

The group meets on the fourth Sunday of the month (excluding December) from 9:30 am, followed by a morning tea at 11 am.

Friends of Belmont Park

This group meets on the second and fourth Saturday of every month at 11 am. They support biodiversity through revegetation projects to encourage small insectivorous birds in the area.

Friends of Burke Road Billabong

This group is re-establishing Indigenous vegetation at the Burke Road Billabong site.

Friends of Greythorn Park

This groups cares for Greythorn Park.

Friends of Markham Forest

This group looks after the forest area around Gardiners Creek at Markham Reserve in Ashburton.

The group meets on the first Sunday of the month (excluding January) from 9:30 am, followed by a morning tea at 11 am.

This group improves the native habitat in Nettleton Park.

The group meets every Thursday and every second Sunday of the month from 9 am to 10:30 am.

This group improves the native habitat and creek in South Surrey Park.

This group works and supports 24 friends groups in the Gardiners Creek catchment. They are also key stakeholders in the development of a strategic plan for the Gardiners Creek/KooyongKoot catchment.
