This autumn we’re making some changes to our bulk leaf collection and street sweeping services. Here's what you need to know.
Autumn bulk leaf collection
Some streets in Boroondara have significantly higher leaf fall than others. Our additional bulk leaf collection service helps keep them safe and tidy.
We recently used a consultant to calculate the volume of leaf fall in streets throughout Boroondara. This data has been used to decide how many bulk leaf collections each included street receives between April and July this year.
Street sweeping
We’ve increased the frequency of street sweeping from every 4 weeks to every fortnight, only during autumn for streets without bulk leaf collections. This is part of a trial to provide a better service across all Boroondara streets.
How you can help us
So we can provide the best possible service, we encourage you to sweep leaves from the footpath and nature strip into the gutter before street sweeping days.
Please also remember to keep cars parked off the road on your scheduled bulk leaf collection and street sweeping days. This ensures our machinery can clear as many leaves as possible.

Reminder to book a bundled green waste collection
Bookings for our free bundled green waste collections are open. If your property is eligible and you’re yet to book an April collection, you can find out more about what we collect and how you can prepare by visiting our Bundled green waste collections page.
Bookings will close at 2 pm on Friday 5 May. Collections begin on Monday 3 April and will end on Friday 12 May.

Do we normally collect your bins on a Friday?
Due to the Good Friday public holiday, all FOGO, recycling and household waste bins normally collected on a Friday will be collected on Saturday 8 April instead.
