Our Sustainability Changemaker program is an immersive, tailored course designed to empower you to take climate action and create sustainable change in your community.

About the program

What you’ll gain

• Practical, transferable skills in project management, communication and collaboration
• Become part of a strong network of like-minded young changemakers
• A resource booklet to support your sustainability journey
• The confidence to lead sustainability projects in your community
• Create and showcase your own project at the end of the program
• A CERES-accredited micro-credential.

What you’ll experience

The program involves 10 weekly sessions held at Council’s Camberwell offices.

The program is delivered by CERES School of Nature and Climate, experts with 43 years in sustainability education.

The sessions run from 6 pm to 9 pm Wednesday 18 March to Wednesday 27 May. 

Topics include

The course will cover topics including:

• creating and delivering community-led climate action
• behaviour change practices
• communications and consultation skills
• Indigenous culture.

Program timing

Two programs will be delivered this year, with a maximum of 15 participants in each. 

• Wednesday 18 March to Wednesday 27 May
• August to October 2026 (dates TBC).

Who is eligible

You will need to meet the following 3 criteria:

• You are 18 to 35-years-old
• You live, work or study in Boroondara
• You can commit to the full 10-week program of weekly in-person sessions in Camberwell. 

Cost

90% of the course fees are funded by us and you will pay $119.60 to participate. This includes a light dinner at each session.

• your passion for sustainability
• why you want to turn ideas into action
• your commitment to attending all sessions.
