Terraced steps around one side of the grounds are ideal for watching sport or relaxing.

Off-lead dog park
Anderson Park is a designated off-lead dog area, except when there are organised sports training sessions and matches on the ovals. Read the park rules on our Off-lead dog parks page.

The extensive playground is set on 3 levels. It includes:

- a rope walkway
- a long flying fox.

About the gardens
Anderson Park is a hidden gem in the heart of Hawthorn with majestic heritage trees and terrific views of the city.
Boroondara bought Anderson Park in November 1911. The 5.6 hectare block was originally part of a plant nursery known as the Mount Ida Estate.
