Off-lead dog park

Willsmere Park is a designated off-lead dog park, except when there are organised sports training sessions and matches on the ovals. Read the park rules on our Off-lead dog park page.

The car park is off Willow Grove. The gardens are located next to the Green Acres Golf Club.

About the park

Willsmere Park is located along the northern-most edge of Boroondara.

The venue is a critical native flora and fauna corridor for the Middle Yarra River. It's also one of Boroondara's most significant natural heritage sites.

The 2 billabongs are vital to the Yarra River floodplain. They help maintain the ecological health of the river system. They are the last remaining billabongs in the lower reaches of the Yarra River.

The park covers around 23 hectares and borders:

  • the Yarra River to the north
  • the Eastern Freeway to the south
  • Yarra Bend Park and Chandler Highway to the west
  • residential properties and Green Acres Golf Club to the east.

Willsmere Park sportsground is closed for the 2025-26 summer season

We’re renewing the sportsground at Willsmere Park as part of our reconstruction program. This upgrade will make sure the oval meets the needs of local sports clubs and the wider community well into the future. Find out more at our Willsmere Park Sportsground renewal page.
