Activities for seniors

Aqua Aerobics is a whole body, low impact conditioning workout to improve overall strength. Due to the in-water nature of the class, it reduces bodyweight and allows participants to complete movements in water that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to do on land. Deep Water Running incorporates deep and shallow water running with intense interval work. A great cross-training class. Runs on Tuesday from 8:15 am to 9:15 am and 7 pm to 8 pm, Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Contact Boroondara Sports Complex for more information.

The Australian Vietnamese Association runs a range of activities including talking, sharing stories, gentle Qigong exercises, traditional dance, table tennis, tai chi, line dancing, gentle exercise, digital skills, singing, games, excursions and events. Runs on Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. Cost: $20 per year.

BODYBALANCE® is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centred and calm. Runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, times may vary - see the Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre website for details. The Boroondara Travel Smart map shows public transport routes including trains, trams and buses. It also includes bike lanes and walking tracks.

You’ll feel welcome in this friendly group as you play and chat. New and experienced players welcome. Runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12:30 pm to 4 pm. Cost: $5.

Chatty Cafe is a program that recognises how the simple act of having a chat over a cuppa can really brighten someone's day. It encourages connections in the community by getting people talking to one another.
