Activities for seniors

Active Movers is our Older Adults Circuit class. It's high intensity and gets everyone moving by using different equipment such as steps, mats, skipping ropes, and dumbbells. You must bring a water bottle, towel and exercise mat. Runs weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - check the Boroondara Sports Complex website for the class times.

Located at Alamein railway station. Open to Boroondara men, all ages and by invitation. Booking required - please contact us to book. Runs weekly on Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Cost: $30 per term or $2 per session.

Aqua Aerobics is a whole body, low impact conditioning workout to improve overall strength. Due to the in-water nature of the class, it reduces bodyweight and allows participants to complete movements in water that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to do on land. Deep Water Running incorporates deep and shallow water running with intense interval work. A great cross-training class. Runs on Tuesday from 8:15 am to 9:15 am and 7 pm to 8 pm, Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Contact Boroondara Sports Complex for more information.

A whole body gentle conditioning workout to improve overall strength, particularly the core muscles. Aquacise is a water based class that is suitable for all levels. Due to the in-water nature of the class, this class reduces bodyweight and allows participants to complete movements in water that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to do on land. Runs on all weekdays as well as Sundays, see the Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre website for times and more information.

Improve core strength, balance and flexibility using weights, resistance bands & stretching techniques. This class is for older adults new to exercise or recovering from injury. Mondays 12:30 - 1:30 and Tuesdays 11:00 - 12:00
