Once your baby is born, the hospital notifies our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team.
We contact you to organise a visit within the first few days of arriving home. Our nurses check your baby's health and progress. They'll connect you with the MCH centre of your choice.
Each time you visit the MCH centre, a nurse will review your child's progress and talk to you about any concerns you have about your baby or parenting issues.
To find your nearest centre, see the map below.

To make an appointment at any MCH centre:

As directed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer, people over 12 years old must wear a face covering at a MCH appointment. For more information, visit the Department of Health website.
Children under 2 years old should never wear a face mask due to choking and strangulation risks.
Many parents are feeling anxious or concerned about their children’s health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
