National Mental Health Month (MHM) is a month dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and wellbeing and promote better health for everyone in Australia. The initiative runs for the month of October, and the theme for this year is building resilience in communities and creating connections. You can find out more about Mental Health Month on the National Mental Health Month Australia website.
World Mental Health Day falls on Monday 10 October 2022, and aims to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world.
The importance of mental health and social connection is reflected in both our Boroondara Community Plan 2021-31 and the Children and Young People’s Action Plan 2020-25. We encourage everyone in Boroondara to mark Mental Health Month by taking time for yourselves and connecting with your local community.
