Public recreation facilities

Boroondara has a range of free recreation facilities for the community to enjoy, including basketball rings, outdoor exercise equipment, skate parks, BMX parks​ and rebound (hit-up) walls for tennis, lacrosse, football, soccer and handball.

We maintain these facilities and they are free for anyone to use.

Skate and BMX parks

Our skate and BMX parks are great spaces for casual riding, lessons, competitions and school programs.

The 4 BMX and skate parks in Boroondara are ideal for all ages and skills.

Exercise equipment

Public outdoor exercise equipment refers to all-weather exercise machines that are placed in parks or along shared paths. The equipment is easy to use and no experience is necessary.

There is signage with instructions to tell you how to use each piece of equipment.

Basketball rings

Public basketball facilities include permanent quarter courts.

Netball facilities

Public netball facilities are available for public use when not being used by netball clubs.

Hit-up walls

Public rebound or hit-up walls are commonly used for tennis, lacrosse, football, soccer and handball.
