Payments can be made by contacting your bank's customer service department. You will be required to quote your Biller Code and Reference Number.

Payments can be made from your savings or cheque accoutn. Council does not accept credit card payments via Bpay.

A receipt will not be issued if payment is received through the mail. Please ensure that payments are posted in time as postal delays will not be accepted as a reason for late payment.

Council cashiers are available at:

    8:30am–5pm Mon–Fri.
  • Kew Library (no cash payments accepted)
    Cnr. Cotham Road and Civic Drive, Kew
    10am–3:30pm Mon–Fri.
    10am–5pm Sat. & 1pm–5pm Sun.

Council would prefer cash payments that are made over the counter at any Australia Post branch or agency.

Payments can be made by EFTPOS, credit card, cash (except Kew Library), cheque or money order.

Make rates payments, animal registration or renewal payments at any post office by cash, cheque or EFTPOS on presentation of your rates notice. Ensure cheques are made payable to 'City of Boroondara' and crossed 'Not negotiable'.

Credit card surcharging

Payments made by credit card will incur a credit card surcharge equivalent to the merchant service fee imposed upon council by the credit card provider.

The surcharge applicable to each card type is: Visa – 0.38%, Mastercard – 0.38%, Diners Club – 1.47% and Amex – 1.48%.
