Our financialsOperating income $306.29 millionSurplus $23.40 millionOperating expenditure $282.89 millionCapital works expenditure $83.47 millionClosing cash and cash equivalents $180.36 millionOperating positionCouncil's operating surplus for 2025–26 was $23.40 million, compared with a budgeted surplus of $20.66 million. The higher result was mainly driven by additional operating grants, including the early receipt of 2026–27 Federal Assistance Grants, along with higher statutory fees and fines, investment earnings and capital grants. These were partly offset by lower than expected monetary contributions from developers and other sources. After adjusting for one-off capital grants and contributions, Council's underlying result was $17.19 million, indicating that day-to-day operations remained financially sustainable during the year.
