Calling all carers in Boroondara, join our ‘Caring for Carers’ program! We are hosting information sessions, exciting workshops and tasty, community lunches for carers from Feb to June 2026. Everything is FREE for unpaid carers and you can join the program at any time!

Join our inclusive playgroup where families can connect, build friendships, and be part of a warm and welcoming community

Cost: $5 (Free trial for the first 2 weeks)

The Social Companionship Initiative is a friendly intergenerational activity at Hawthorn Library, pairing Swinburne University nursing students with older residents for weekly conversations.

The get togethers help to reduce loneliness, build community. It also assists future nurses to practice empathy, listening, and person centred care.

Held on Tuesdays at 11am at the Hawthorn Library (the last catchup will be 30th June 2026).

On the second Thursday of each moth, club members meet for lunch at venues chosen from locations withing the Boroondara vicinity.

The lunches provide opportunities for members to try different food options and enjoy some social interaction.

A regular fortnight gathering inviting Chinese elderly participants to build community cohesion promoting general health and wellness.Meetings will be held onsite every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month starting 9 October. Featured activities will include: healthy exercises for the elderly, special topics of community interest, birthday parties, games, English classes and music classes. We'll continue as long as there is community interest. $15 per session.

Join our friendly group from Life Activities Club Boroondara for Scrabble at 1pm on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month. Come and exercise your mind!

Room hire available for preschool birthday parties. Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 1.30 pm or 1.30 to 5 pm and some weekdays available. Cost for non-members is $175 per session, members $135 per session.

We provide opportunities for older people of all abilities and interests to participate in group activities to enhance wellbeing and foster connections, Tai chi, Line Dancing, Traditional Dancing, Choir, warm up and stretching and outings. We aim to encourage our members to be socially active, lead healthy lives and blend into the local community. We also partner with other clubs to provide joint activities and programs to members. Cost: $20 annual membership fee.
