Balwyn Library Redevelopment

Into slide:

Library users tell us what they most like about their new Balwyn Library.

Phyona, Library User:

"I like the way that it’s a community space. I really love the way it invites everybody to come here and spend time here. There’s families here and people from every generation enjoying all the things that the library has to offer."

[Phyona, wearing a cream cardigan with red polka dots and a black necklace, is standing in front of shelves that are blurred in the background. Blurred figures of people reading at a table can also be seen behind Phyona.

Footage of Phyona is interspersed with photos of other library users:

  • People of all ages reading in chairs near the tall windows, while other users browse books on shelves, and one woman searches the online catalogue
  • Students set up in a study corner with their laptops
  • Children and parents in the kids’ section

Sharon, Library User:

"I probably like the light. It feels much fresher."

[Sharon, wearing a red, white and blue stripey t-shirt, is standing in front of shelves that appear blurred in the background.

There is also another photo of the children’s section of the library, bathed in light from large windows.]
