Content components We’re upgrading the local playground at South Surrey Park, on the corner of Verdun Street and Lille Street in Surrey Hills, due to its age and condition. StatusWe’ll start building the new playground from Tuesday 17 March 2026.We plan to finish construction and reopen the playground by mid-2026 (weather permitting).How you may be impacted during constructionConstruction will happen on weekdays between 7 am and 3 pm (excluding public holidays). We may need to work some Saturdays.The playground will be closed and fenced off.South Surrey Park will stay open.Pedestrian access to walking routes near the playground will be closed, with detours in place.Builder vehicles will occupy some parking spaces on Verdun Street.
