Dorothy Laver Reserve East playground upgrade

About the upgrade

This playground upgrade aims to:

• offer a diverse range of play activities, experiences and equipment
• improve accessibility around the playground
• meet the needs of children and families into the future.

Key features of the new playground include: 

• a castle play unit with two slides, a rope bridge, curved monkey bars and a drawbridge
• a ‘Dorothy Laver Market’ cubby house  
• basket swing, toddler swing and sling seat
• a track glide
• a spiral play tunnel
• a spring rocker.

Other features to be included in the wider playground space include:

• improved seating overlooking the playground
• a new picnic table setting
• accessible drinking fountain.

Community consultation

We invited our community to share feedback to help guide the design for the new playground.

We received feedback over 2 rounds of consultation in late-2024 and early-2025. Thank you to everyone who had their say.

Status

Construction of the new playground is expected to start in early 2026. We expect to finish the playground in mid-to-late 2026.

We’ll update this page and keep our community informed when construction timelines are confirmed.
