Coronavirus update 13 March 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support.

If you're finding it hard to shop, cook or prepare your own meals, you might be eligible for some help to prepare healthy meals at home.

Help cooking at home

If you would still like to cook at home, but need some help with shopping, preparation and cleaning up, see Help at home.

Meal home delivery

Also known as 'meals on wheels', this convenient and flexible service delivers meals to your door on Monday to Friday, including meals for the weekend. These services have an extensive range of fresh ready-to-eat main options to choose from, as well as sandwiches, salads and soups.

You need to be approved by My Aged Care to receive food services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) before we can provide you with transport services.

Other food options

Meals at a community centre

Some seniors groups and centres offer community lunches. Some organisations also offer their own transport services to help you get to and from the venue. Council can also take you to a community centre using our community transport.

Shopping online

Another way to get your shopping done without leaving home is by ordering your groceries online and having them delivered. The major grocery chains all offer this service as do some smaller providers. If this is something that interests you, but you don't feel confident to set this up yourself, our home support staff can help you with this. There are also many resources available to improve your confidence with computers.

Cooking classes

If you still like to cook for yourself occasionally and are looking for some inspiration, check out our local cooking classes.
