Meals at a community centre
Some seniors groups and centres offer community lunches. Some organisations also offer their own transport services to help you get to and from the venue. Council can also take you to a community centre using our community transport.
Also known as 'meals on wheels', this convenient and flexible service delivers meals to your door on Monday to Friday, including meals for the weekend. These services have an extensive range of fresh, ready-to-eat main options to choose from, as well as sandwiches, salads and soups.
In the City of Boroondara these services are provided by BassCare and Samarinda. Please contact MyAgedCare to access these services.
Another way to get your shopping done without leaving home is by ordering your groceries online and having them delivered. The major grocery chains all offer this service as do some smaller providers. If this is something that interests you, but you don't feel confident to set this up yourself, our home support staff can help you with this. There are also many resources available to improve your confidence with computers.
If you still like to cook for yourself and are looking for inspiration, check out our range of cooking books and magazines available to borrow online.
