Council has closed some facilities and cancelled all events until 14 April. Learn which services have been affected.

The following childcare options are available in the City of Boroondara.

Long day care

Full-time or part-time education and care for your child in a childcare centre.

Age: 0-6 years

Hours of operation: check with each centre, but generally 7.30am to 6pm

Family day care

Flexible care for your child in a home environment.

Age: 0-12 years (7 maximum, 4 preschool and 3 school age)

Hours of operation: varies (care outside of 8am to 6pm is by application only).

Occasional care

Care provided in a range of settings on an hourly basis and for short periods of time.

Age: 0-6 years

Some childcare centres also offer kindergarten - a preschool program for 3- and 4-year-old children.

Help with childcare costs

The Child Care Subsidy is paid through the Commonwealth Family Assistance Office. For information and to apply for childcare assistance, visit DHS – Childcare or call 13 61 50.
