If your pet's behaviour becomes a problem, you may receive a fine (infringement notice). Some examples of offences include your dog being off-leash in a leashed area, unsupervised, unregistered or registered without a tag. Penalties vary depending on the nature of the offence.
If you've received an animal infringement notice, you'll need to pay it within 28 days or you'll incur additional costs and legal proceedings may be started.
What to do
You can pay online from 2 business days after your fine was issued. You'll need:
- your Infringement Notice Number
- a valid credit card (see Payments for further information).
The amount of the fine must be paid in full.
You can also pay by phone, by mail or in person. See Payments for more information.
