Preferred payment methods
Customer service counters at Camberwell, Hawthorn Arts Centre and Kew Library will be closed for the foreseeable future, as directed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer.
Our customer service staff remain available to assist you and community members are asked to contact us via alternative methods including:
- Submitting a request via our website.
- Sending us an email.
- Calling us on 9278 4444, Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 5.15pm.
We encourage you to make enquiries and payments online.
Council has introduced these measures to protect the community and staff from the risks associated with coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The health and safety of our community and Council staff is our top priority and we believe this decision is in everyone’s best interest. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Our cashier desks are closed.
You can still make cash payments at any Australia Post branch.

Credit card surcharges
If you use a credit card, we charge a surcharge that is equivalent to the fee the credit card provider imposes upon us. The surcharge for each card type is:
- Visa: 0.97%
- MasterCard: 0.97%
- Amex: 1.48%
There are no fees for using debit cards.
