Some of our services are impacted due to COVID-19.

Christmas tree collection delay

There may be a delay of up to 2 weeks to your Christmas tree being collected. This is because some of our waste drivers have been exposed to COVID-19. Leave your tree out on the week of your booking and we will collect it as soon as we can.

If you have your bins collected by the council, you can book to have your real Christmas tree collected from your naturestrip.

Collections will operate from Monday 3 January 2022 to Friday 4 February 2022.

Please remember, we only collect and recycle real Christmas trees, not plastic ones.

How to book your collection

Bookings open on Monday 13 December 2021 and close 2pm Friday 28 January 2022.

  1. Go to the Book a waste collection page.
  2. Enter your address.
  3. Select Christmas Tree Collection.
  4. Select your preferred week for the collection.

Bookings for the following week close at 2pm each Friday.

Collection days

Christmas tree collections are not scheduled for a specific date. Your tree will be collected within your chosen week.

What we collect

We only collect real trees. They are turned into mulch to use in our parks and gardens.

Where to put your Christmas tree

Put your Christmas tree on the naturestrip, keeping the footpath clear.

Other options for disposing of real Christmas trees

You can dispose of your Christmas tree and other green waste at the Boroondara Recycling and Waste Centre (fees apply).
