Some of our services are closed or have different hours on the King's Birthday public holiday, Monday 9 June.

If your vehicle crossover or driveway has been damaged due to Council works, such as construction, maintenance or by a Council vehicle or tree, you can report the issue for assessment and repair.

We will repair vehicle crossovers or driveways when the damage is caused by our activities. If the damage is due to factors unrelated to Council works, such as wear and tear or external causes, you will be responsible for the cost of repairs.

Report damage

You can report damage to your vehicle crossover or driveway in the following ways:

Repair timeframes

Repair timeframes vary depending on the severity of the damage. Urgent repairs will be prioritised, and temporary safety measures may be implemented before full repairs are carried out.

Car bottoming (steep driveway issues)

Car bottoming occurs when your vehicle scrapes or "bottoms out" at the crossover where it meets the kerb. We will assess car bottoming issues if they are caused by recent road resurfacing, poor road surface conditions, or tree roots. If the cause is unrelated to Council works, you will be responsible for repairs.

If you choose to have your contractor carry out the repairs, a works permit is required. We do not endorse the installation of alternative ramps, such as rubber or steel plates.

Please note: VicRoads does not approve the installation of car bottom ramps.
