Lynden Park west oval is suitable for:

  • AFL
  • cricket
  • outdoor fitness training
  • general sports.

The west oval perimeter is 445 m making it the larger of the 2 ovals.

It features:

  • cricket pitch (summer-season only)
  • cricket nets
  • a soccer pitch
  • AFL goal posts (winter-season only)
  • soccer goals (winter-season only)
  • portable soccer goal posts.

Goal post padding and nets are not provided.

Casual bookings

Bookings require a minimum notice of 5 business days.

Sportsground lighting is not available for casual bookings.

Booking times

7 days including public holidays.

April to October: 7 am to 6 pm.

November to March: 8 am to 8 pm.

Public facilities are free for all oval visitors to use and are not included as part of a booking.

There are no public toilets at Lynden Park.

Parking and transport

There are car parks off Stornoway Road and Lynden Street. 

The park is 1.2 km from Hartwell train station.

Casual sportsground booking: $73.50 per hour.

Restrictions

  • Studs and boots are not allowed on our sportsgrounds for casual bookings
  • No golf activities are allowed on any of our sportsgrounds.

Casual sportsground bookings do not include:

  • line marking services
  • access to power.

Sportsground closures

We may need to close a sportsground at short notice if harsh weather affects the condition of its surface. For example, if a sportsground becomes flooded, we will close it until it dries. See Sportsground closures for details.
