The Traders Parking Permit is issued subject to the following conditions:
- The permit is issued in accordance with the Parking Permit Policy [PDF], available on
Council’s website. - The permit is only valid for parking in the permit zone in the location specified on
the permit. - The permit will not be deemed valid unless displayed on the dashboard with
the permit details clearly visible at all times from the outside of the motor vehicle. - Permits are only transferable to employees of the permit holder; however, the
permit must not be used for or displayed by a heavy vehicle or long vehicle as
defined in Rule 200 of the Road Safety Road Rules 2017, or a caravan, boat,
motor home, bus or any earthmoving vehicle or equipment. - The holder of a permit is required to conform with all other parking restrictions and
prohibitions and where applicable pay the specified parking fee. - The permit does not absolve you from any statutory offences as laid down under
the provision of the Road Safety Act or any regulations thereunder. - If the permit is lost, a statutory declaration must be provided to Council’s Local Laws
department within 7 days of forming the belief. The permit must be retained by
the permit holder at all times whilst not in use. - The issue and continued use of a parking permit shall be at the absolute discretion
of Council. - The permit may be revoked where it has been found to be used contrary to the
conditions specified. There is a requirement for the permit to be returned to
Council if this occurs. - Council reserves the right to cancel the permit without notice if Council forms a
reasonable belief that the permit is being used contrary to the conditions. - In accordance with legislation, the use of parking spaces in streets to which parking
permits apply may be suspended by members of Victoria Police or by authorised
Council Officers. - The permit must not be photocopied, or otherwise reproduced. Photocopied or
reproduced copies of the permit are invalid and will be subject to infringement
notices. The permit holder must not:
(a) Charge any person a fee to use the permit; or
(b) Accept any consideration (monetary or otherwise) from a person for the use
of the permit; or(c) Allow the permit to be used in any manner which contravenes the Parking
Permit Policy and/or conditions of the permit.
