Summer in the Park

Following the huge success of last year, Summer in the Park is back to bring you free outdoor events across Boroondara. Relax under the trees listening to enchanting opera, dance the evening away with some fiery Latin rhythms or sit under the stars and enjoy a movie at the outdoor cinema.

Pack a picnic and spend the balmy Melbourne summer nights with your family, friends and neighbours enjoying evenings of sweet summer sounds in some of Boroondara’s most beautiful parks.

More information

For more information, call 9278 4770.

Summer in the Park is an outdoor program and we hope to run the events rain, hail or shine. However, in the case of extreme weather conditions, please check back here or check the City of Boroondara Facebook page for the latest information.

Parking is extremely limited at each venue, so we recommend you walk, ride or catch public transport.

Food and drinks

BYO picnic and picnic blanket. A sausage sizzle and small selection of beverages will be available for purchase at all Summer in the Park events.

Alcohol is permitted, but there is no alcohol for sale.

You are welcome to bring your own picnic rugs and cushions. Low beach chairs are also fine. If you do need a chair with legs, make sure you sit near the back, don't obstruct anyone's view and your chair doesn't damage the grass.

We love pups at Summer in the Park events, but they need to be kept on a short leash at all times. You must clean up after your dog and keep it under control.

Summer in the Park is a family-friendly event and we welcome children of all ages to attend. Download these colouring-in sheets beforehand to get into the Summer in the Park mood!
