Coronavirus update 13 March 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support.

Relax in Boroondara’s beautiful parks and enjoy free outdoor performances and events throughout February and March at our beloved Summer in the Park series.

Taking place in beautiful parks across our city, each year we carefully select some of Australia’s finest musical talent for you to enjoy - all just a short stroll, bike, tram or train ride from your own doorstep.

The Summer in the Park program is for music lovers of all ages. Whether soul, jazz, indie pop, folk or swing is your thing, bring your friends, your family and your picnic rug to enjoy some sweet summer sounds.

Entry is free to all events!

Weather

Summer in the Park is an outdoor program and we hope to run the events rain, hail or shine. However, in the case of extreme weather conditions, please check back here or check the City of Boroondara Facebook page for the latest information.

Parking

Parking is extremely limited at each venue, so we recommend you walk, ride or catch public transport.

Food and drinks

BYO picnic and picnic blanket. A sausage sizzle and small selection of beverages will be available for purchase at all Summer in the Park events.

Alcohol is permitted, but there is no alcohol for sale.

Seating

You are welcome to bring your own picnic rugs and cushions. Low beach chairs are also fine. If you do need a chair with legs, make sure you sit near the back, don't obstruct anyone's view and your chair doesn't damage the grass.

Dogs

We love pups at Summer in the Park events, but they need to be kept on a short leash at all times. You must clean up after your dog and keep it under control.

Kids

Summer in the Park is a family-friendly event and we welcome children of all ages to attend. Download these colouring-in sheets beforehand to get into the Summer in the Park mood!
