Celebrate Lunar New Year in Boroondara.
Join us for a vibrant community-led celebration as part of Summer in the Park, honouring the rich cultural connections that make our city special. Enjoy a program filled with traditional dance, evocative music and the ever-popular Lion Dancers. Bring a picnic and relax on the grass as the festivities unfold at this family-friendly event.
Boroondara community groups will proudly take centre stage, showcasing dance, song and performance including:
- Australian Vietnamese Association of Boroondara
- Chinese Seniors Cultural Association
- Eastern Senior Chinese Association
- Kew Home of Chinese Seniors Club.
Adding to the fun will be stunning traditional dance by performers from Jin Han Dance School, and a spectacular double Lion Dance finale by JGK Fei Ying Dragon and Lion Dance Association - renowned for their energetic Hong Kong-style performances.
Topping it all off will be our favourite charismatic host, Yo Zi! Don’t miss this colourful, joyful celebration of Lunar New Year.

Bring a picnic and a rug and pick your favourite spot as the sun goes down. Some refreshments will be available for sale.
Summer in the Park is an LGBTQIA+ safe space.
We love animals, but if you can, please leave your furry friends safely at home.
There will be a zero-tolerance policy for anti-social behaviour.
