We collect autumn leaves along selected streets in the City of Boroondara from April to July. We select these streets based on the size, species and number of trees on the streets.
Our leaf collection starts at a different time each year, depending on weather patterns and when different species of trees drop their leaves.
This service replaces regular residential street sweeping from April to June. In July, both services run. You can find out more about our regular street sweeping on our Find your street sweeping days page.
If you can't find your address in our lookup tool, please use the 'Was this page helpful?' form at the bottom of this page to send your address to us, and we'll check it.
How you can help us with leaf collection
- Avoid parking on the street on your sweeping days.
- If you can't move your vehicle, you can help by sweeping leaves from under parked vehicles the night before. Please remove any sticks, branches and rocks as they will damage the machinery.
- Don't rake or blow grass clippings or leaves onto the road after the sweeper has passed by.

What to do with extra leaves
We don’t sweep or collect leaves from private gardens. You can:
- put them in your food and garden waste (FOGO) bin
- compost them at home.
