Councillor Jane Addis: After much anticipation I'm very pleased to officially welcome you to this wonderful new community facility.

The new precinct creates unique opportunities for social connection by providing high quality and accessible community Services in one centralised location.
The new main building is now home to Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre including the Canterbury Community Garden, Canterbury Maternal and Child Health Centre, Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten, Playstation Occasional Care and the Canterbury Toy Library.

The precinct offers a vibrant and welcoming environment which has been designed to complement and celebrate the beautiful local character and heritage of the area.

In addition to the new main building, we are renewing the existing historical buildings that border Canterbury Gardens, creating a fresh new home for Interchange Inner East, Canterbury History Group and Surry Hills Historical Society.
