Our mobile app allows you to access Boroondara Library services anywhere, anytime.

With the app, you can:

  • search for and reserve items
  • view your account information like loans, reservations​ and borrowing history
  • renew loans
  • create lists of 'favourite' items to borrow later
  • use your camera to scan an ISBN barcode on the back of a book to check if the library has copies
  • use your account barcode on the app to borrow items in the library, instead of using your library card.

Get the Boroondara Library mobile app

  1. Go to the App Store or Google Play and search for Spydus Mobile.
  2. Download the Spydus Mobile app.
  3. Tap Select Library and select Boroondara Library Service.
  4. Tap Login.
  5. Enter your membership number and PIN (your 14-digit membership number is under the barcode on your library card, your 6-digit PIN is your date of birth in DDMMYY format).
  6. Select the branch that you go to the most.
  7. Tap Login.

You'll need a compatible mobile operating system to run the app – find details in your app store. 

Renew a loan using the app

To renew your loans using the app:

  1. Tap Current loans.
  2. Either tap on an individual item and click Renew or tap Edit in the top right corner of the screen and select items to renew.
  3. Tap Renew and Confirm and the items will be renewed.

New improved app coming soon

We will be launching a new and improved app for our members very soon. With the new app, you will be able to:

  • search for and reserve items
  • view your account information including loans, reservations​ and borrowing history
  • renew loans
  • store your digital library card
  • see what’s on at your local branch, and more!
