The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre (BVRC) supports community organisations and volunteer leaders to recruit, manage and celebrate volunteers. Membership is free and gives you access to tools, training and a network of over 400 local community organisations. All our services are free.

What’s the Member Portal?

The BVRC Member Portal is a secure online hub where you can manage all aspects of your volunteer recruitment in one place. It allows you to:

  • advertise volunteer roles.
  • view and contact applicants.
  • send offers to skilled professionals in the Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank.
  • access templates, tip sheets and video guides.

You’ll receive login details when you join. We can also take you through the system by phone or arrange an online demonstration.

Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank

Our Volunteer Skills Bank connects you with more than 800 registered professionals who are ready to share their expertise. Skills range from governance, communications and grant writing to IT, web development and social media.

The Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank is a unique dedicated skilled volunteer database. It offers skilled roles directly to volunteers. Training, events and networking

We offer:

  • professional development workshops for volunteer managers.
  • skill building workshops for volunteers.

  • signature events including the Boroondara Volunteer Expo, International Volunteer Managers Day Forum, Boroondara Volunteer Awards and sector celebrations.

About membership

To be eligible for membership, your organisation must be a not-for-profit registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) or be an incorporated association registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

To advertise volunteer roles, access skilled volunteers​ or take part in BVRC events and activities, organisations must hold both Personal Accident Insurance covering volunteers, and Public Liability Insurance. Each Certificate of Currency must clearly state the insurance type, policy number, coverage and expiry dates and the insurer’s name.

Screening and background checks

The BVRC doesn’t screen volunteers. Member organisations are responsible for managing all screening and background checks.

We’re available 8:30 am to 5:15 pm:

  • In person: Tuesday to Thursday
