Join Ashburton Chinese Senior Friendship Association for “From Mooncakes to Music: Celebrating Seniors with Heart”, a joyful cultural event held during the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival in Boroondara. Timed to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival on 6 October, the event brings together seniors, families and volunteers to celebrate tradition, connection and wellbeing.
You’ll enjoy a hands-on mooncake-making workshop, traditional dance and fitness performances and the singing of beloved Chinese songs.
A free light lunch and traditional mooncakes will be provided.
No RSVP is required – the event is open to all seniors and their families.
Volunteers will be on-site to assist with seating, translation (English/Chinese) and accessibility needs.
The event promotes intergenerational engagement, cultural pride and social inclusion, while honouring the contributions of older adults in our community.
Event schedule
- 10:30 am – Arrival, welcome and introductions
- 11 am – Mooncake-making workshop
- Noon – Cultural performances (dance, fitness, singing)
- 1 pm – Shared lunch and social time
- 2:30 pm – Closing remarks and farewells
