Event details
Jailhouse Concert Series 2025 is proud to feature Ingrid and the Ministers at the Kew Court House on Saturday, 4 October 2025. Kew is in for a treat as this phenomenal band delivers an unforgettable night of swampy blues rock, led by Ingrid Saker.
In 2023, Ingrid opened solo for Jon Stevens in Wellington, when he was touring with Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper. More recently, this gritty blues band have been invited to join the remarkable line up at the Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival.
Ingrid and the Ministers have emerged from the underground of Auckland and now call Melbourne home. Ingrid's songwriting, guitar and singing, pilots the band down pathways of expansive creative energy and electrifying performances.
Ingrid and the Ministers have been likened to Joan Jett and The White Stripes. You can check them out on Spotify, having released their first album “Kill the Sights” in 2019 and their most recent album “Last Train Blues” in 2024.
The band's album "Boofhead" garnered praise from Rolling Stone magazine and the 13th floor, Marty Duda, naming it 'one of the best NZ albums of the year'. The track "Porcelain God" was also featured in an episode of "Brokenwood Mysteries" on TVNZ.
