Your child can repeat 3-year-old kindergarten if the kindergarten teacher believes they have additional needs. When you apply for the second year, you'll need to get the teacher's approval.
For your child to repeat 4-year-old kindergarten, which is partially funded by the Victorian Government, your child needs to demonstrate that two or more aspects of their development are below the expected level for children starting school the following year.
The Department of Education and Training has more information about a second year of kindergarten.
