 Check whether the height is 2m or more

Measure the distance from natural ground level to the top of the fence. Include any extensions to the fence, such as lattice or screening.

Is the height of the fence 2m or more?

• If yes, you need to apply for a Building Permit.
• If no you do not need a Building Permit for the fence. See whether you need any other permits.
