Construction update

Work is continuing steadily with progress across the site. Milestones this month include: 

Sports courts

Internal wall lining is almost finished, and ceiling services fit off works are underway. External façade works are progressing well, with the northern section facing Derby Street now complete.

Warm water pool and spa, quiet studio and consult suites

Work on sheeting the internal walls continues, with preparation underway to install electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling services. Ceiling framing is close to completion.

25m pool

The northern wall lining is advanced with brick façade work now underway. Tiling of the 25 metre pool walls is progressing.

Foyer and creche

Structural steel framing for the roof canopy facing Coles on Derby Place is now completed and roof installation is now underway.

Opening date update

Earlier this month, we confirmed that Kew Recreation Centre will reopen to the public in July 2027. Read our news article for more information.
