This program offers a broad range of imaginative topics to make it easy and fun to start your writing journey. Writers are individually linked to an encourager, who reads the writer's work and offers constructive feedback.

Chinese Seniors Weekly Activities in Canterbury. Chinese seniors (mostly Shanghainese speaking) get together for activities such as chatting, singing, dancing, Shanghai Opera rehearsal, cards and mah-jong, stretching exercise and Tai-Chi, table tennis, and other cultural activities. Runs weekly on Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm. Cost: $30 annual membership.

Hawthorn Historical Society aims to engage, inform and educate the community about the economic, social, cultural and environmental history and heritage of Hawthorn. We are seeking members to join our group and assist with a range of activities include researching, cataloguing, giving talks, workshops and organising exhibitions.

A regular fortnight gathering inviting Chinese elderly participants to build community cohesion promoting general health and wellness.Meetings will be held onsite every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month starting 9 October. Featured activities will include: healthy exercises for the elderly, special topics of community interest, birthday parties, games, English classes and music classes. We'll continue as long as there is community interest. $15 per session.
