This program offers 13 hours of free kinder per week.

Access to the library from Inglesby Road is through Camberwell Civic Centre.

Parking

Free parking is available on Inglesby Road with 15-minute, one- and 2-hour limits, including disability parking spaces. Paid parking is available on Camberwell Road with one- and 2-hour limits.

There is an accessible vehicle drop-off area on Reserve Road.

Bike parking is available at the front of the library.

Public transport

Tram 16 (Melbourne University to Kew) stops 130m from the library at the corner of Glenferrie Road and Urquhart Street (stop 71).

With its fun-filled adventure playground and plenty of open space, Riversdale Park is a popular place for events and social gatherings.

In December each year, there's a popular and free Summertime Cinema screening in the park.

As well as slides, swings and a roundabout, children can enjoy the spider’s web, climbing wall and large seesaw. One swing has a harness.

About the gardens

The park is named after Major Frederick Fitzwalter Read, a former mayor of Camberwell.

The commemorative drinking fountain in the centre of the garden was installed in his honour.
