Learn about the useful functions of your Apple iPad! Beginner and Intermediate skill levels covered. The group is designed to help you practice sending emails, searching the internet, taking photos, and using apps. Members must be over 65 years and registered with My Aged Care. Held on the first Thursday of the month from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, cost is $5 per session. Morning tea provided. Community transport services may be available. Join us on Tuesday and Friday mornings between 9:30 am to 11 am at the Seniors Exercise Park in Victoria Park, Kew. These sessions are run by a group of 10 volunteers from the community who have undertaken training with the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI). This friendly, enthusiastic team is equipped to run our Come and Try sessions at the park, and demonstrate how you can use the equipment safely and effectively. If you’re interested in ways to improve balance, strength or mobility, or you want to try a new activity this year, come along to our next Come and Try session.

We provide opportunities for older people of all abilities and interests to participate in group activities to enhance wellbeing and foster connections, Tai chi, Line Dancing, Traditional Dancing, Choir, warm up and stretching and outings. We aim to encourage our members to be socially active, lead healthy lives and blend into the local community. We also partner with other clubs to provide joint activities and programs to members. Cost: $20 annual membership fee.

The Ashburton Support Group meetings happen on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, either in person or on Zoom, from 7 pm to 9 pm. They are for family members and friends of loved ones with problematic alcohol, drug, or gambling use. They are led by volunteers with their own lived experience, and provide safe, confidential, and friendly places where members can learn strategies on how to cope, gain information and support and be among people who understand. All meetings are free, but you need to call to book a place at a meeting.
