Engaging with us on social media is a great way to have your questions answered, share comments, connect with others and stay up to date with what’s happening in Boroondara.

We monitor our social media channels from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday (not including public holidays).

Our social media channels are a safe place where community members can interact with Council and each other.

When interacting with our social media channels, we ask that you remain respectful. 

Community comments shared on social media may be hidden or removed at the discretion of Council if they are deemed to contain content which:

  • is considered defamatory, offensive, humiliating, threatening or intimidating 
  • uses foul or inappropriate language
  • is sexual or violent in nature
  • constitutes hate speech
  • constitutes unlawful conduct
  • bullies or harasses an individual or group
  • breaches the privacy of Council officers or members of the public
  • breaches copyright laws
  • contains spam or spam-like content
  • is irrelevant to the topic at hand
  • includes misleading information and content
  • advertises, endorses or supports commercial entities
  • endangers the health and wellbeing of a Council staff member or member of the public.

Privacy on social media

When you post personal information on our social media channels, you are posting on a public forum that is not owned by the City of Boroondara.

Your comments, and the information you provide may no longer be protected by Victorian privacy law and is subject to the privacy and information policy of the platform that you have engaged on.
